Rev. Janet R Cabrera de Martinez
My name is Janet R. Cabrera de Martínez. I was born in El Salvador, Central America. I’m married to Rev. Eliud Martinez, Pastor of Salem United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac. I have two children, Andrea and Mario, now both married. I moved with my family from El Salvador to the U.S. in 2003.
I received a Theology degree from Universidad Bíblica Latinoamericana, Costa Rica in 2017. Associate Pastoral Counselor and Associate Clinical Chaplain from the College of Pastoral Supervision & Psychotherapy, Nashville in 2018. Attended at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary with basic and advanced courses from 2009 until the present. I served for 7 years as an associate pastor at Cumberland Hispanic Fellowship United Methodist Church in Crossville, Tennessee. And as director of the Compassion and Hope ministry, whose mission was to help people with different needs in holistic health, Immigration, and education. I was co-chair of the Hispanic/Latino ministries of the Tennessee Conference of UMC during the years 2016-2017. Also, I was a volunteer chaplain of the hospital in Crossville, Tennessee for 13 years. On July 1, 2021, Along with Community United Methodist church, Bishop Hee Soo Jung has appointed me as a Local Pastor to plant a new church, Pacto de Gracia United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac, to make disciples of Jesus Christ with the Hispanic/Latino community.
